THE TEAM

ADAM GURCZAK

ALEX LEIVA

Adam Gurczak is a creative consultant, bassist, educator, and visual artist who merges his years of experience both on and off stage with a keen eye for design. As co-founder of Almanak Creative, he focuses on all things visual from photography to graphic design to website development.

He brings a background in arts administration, including five years as the Education Programs and Marketing Manager for Silkroad—a non-profit and Grammy Award-winning touring ensemble founded by Yo-Yo Ma. An active musician himself, he also performs as part of the folk duo So Blue and with various singer-songwriters and classical ensembles, while also teaching at the New England Conservatory Prep School, Wayland School of Music, and StringPlay.

Since 2021, he has annually been a guest lecturer at Harvard University’s Strategic Finance for Non-Profit Leaders course and, in 2024, he served on a panel for Music as a Social Force at Berklee College’s Teachers on Teaching conference.

Adam received an MBA in Arts Innovation from the Global Leaders Institute, a Master of Music from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a B.M. in Music Performance, a B.A. in Italian Studies, and a Thematic Minor in Global Studies.

Alex Leiva is a musician, producer, and recording engineer, drawing on over 20 years of experience as a professional trumpet player and a decade shaping sound as a recording engineer. As co-founder of Almanak Creative, he is the mastermind behind the soundboard, helping artists to sound their best while also supporting photography and videography.

His work includes collaborations with Grammy-winning artists and projects engineered in legendary spaces like Abbey Road and Power Station. Alex combines his extensive musical background with technical precision to produce and engineer recordings of exceptional quality and artistry across genres including bluegrass, rock, gospel, folk, orchestral, and more. Alex has also held several administrative roles at Berklee College of Music, including a two-year tenure on the board of admissions.

As a musician, his early experiences performing with jazz ensembles, concert bands, and orchestras prepared him to play with DownBeat Award-winning jazz ensemble JE1 at the University of North Florida from 2013-2015. After two years of intensive jazz studies and performance with internationally acclaimed artists, Alex transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's in Music Production and Engineering.

Why Almanak?

We aren’t just designers and audio engineers—we bring years of experience as teachers, administrators, and performers.

We care about cultivating the arts because we’ve seen the many sides of it from behind a desk, on stage, and in the boardroom. We know the impact of great art, the power of thoughtful strategy, and the frustrating elusiveness those ideals often suffer from.

With Almanak, we aim to address that. Our clients span from emerging artists to established organizations, and we work with each to design projects that serve their needs and work for their budget. We’re passionate about creating beautiful products, and equally so about teaching our clients how to best maximize their investment with workshops and consulting sessions to provide practical training that can be used well beyond any one project.
