Good photos begin with good communication

A photoshoot is an act of world-building. By getting to know you, your goals, and your vision, we craft a world that feels authentic to you.

We also recognize that being in front of a camera can feel vulnerable. We take the time to talk through the process, gently guide you through poses and postures, and work together to create a comfortable environment where you can be your most free self.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Absolutely! We primarily serve artists across Boston, Providence, Portland, Western Mass, and across New England, but are also available for travel worldwide.

    Travel fees are calculated based on distance and logistics according to federal mileage and GSA rates.

    Photoshoots within one hour of Boston are not subject to any travel fees.

  • Happily! We love collaborating with others and jump at the opportunity to involve more talented people. Reach out to us for custom recommendations.

  • Typically, you can expect a few preview images within 48 hours of the shoot, and the full gallery within 3 weeks of the session.

  • Yes. At Almanak, we believes artists should own their identity. All packages include high-resolution files and a license for personal and promotional use. No hidden licensing fees or “pay-per-photos” structures.

  • Of course! Each package includes varying levels of editing and retouching. If you receive your final gallery and would like to have more detailed or creative retouching — advanced skin retouching, relighting, digital makeup application, artistic edits, compositing, etc. — then we can add that at a rate of $25 per image.

  • Each package includes one hour of photography, not including setup and breakdown.

Adam Gurczak is Almanak’s lead photographer with over a decade of experience photographing musicians and other creatives. His style favors rich, moody colors with thoughtful editing and retouching that is meticulous, yet honest. He focuses on tasteful, detailed enhancements rather than manufacturing unattainble standards of beauty.
