The Project:

Comprehensive artist brand development and visual media production for Jessye DeSilva’s album “Glitter Up the Dark,” including photography, album design, website design, a music video, and release strategy consultation.


The Timeline:

January—March 2026


The Outcome:

“Glitter Up the Dark” released on April 3, 2026 along with a full suite of media assets, earning features and reviews in Americana Highways, WBUR, Rainbow Rodeo Magazine, Allston Pudding, and more.

Jessye received a revamped brand identity and website overhaul; a gallery of creative headshots and promotional imagery; a music video featuring the eponymous single from the album; cover art for the album and corresponding singles; and release strategy consulting sessions to develop a promotional plan in advance of the record’s release.

In her interview with Americana Highways, Jessye shared:


“I’ve never felt more comfortable, beautiful, and powerful as I did in front of Adam’s lens.”

“This was my first time working with Adam Gurczak and Almanak Creative, who not only shot the video, but also did the photos and album art for the record. I’m an ethereal girlie at heart, and always have been. I’ve been really into the revival of a sort of 90s whimsigoth aesthetic, and Stevie Nicks and Florence Welch are constant inspirations, and I think Adam nailed all of these things with the visuals of the album and the video itself.

I’m not the most confident with my body and this was my first time doing a creative music video—also my first album release since my transition—and I’ve never felt more comfortable, beautiful, and powerful as I did in front of Adam’s lens.”

Brand
Development

Jessye came to us with such a strong aesthetic in mind, describing her music as “ethereal alt-Americana witch pop,” inspired by legends like Florence Welch and Stevie Nicks. In developing Jessye’s brand identity, we wanted to ensure every part of her visuals—from fonts to photos to videos—spoke to that aesthetic and elevated her digital presence to the next level.

Photography

This record marked Jessye’s first album release since her transition, so it was crucial that she receive updated photos that celebrate her most authentic self. We wanted the photos to merge strength, beauty, and glamour with a 90s whimsigoth aesthetic.

Release Strategy Consulting

We worked with Jessye to create a vision with practical tools for implementation to help get her record out in the world. These sessions covered Branding & Identity, Audience Development, Social Media Promotion, and Playlist Pitching, each with easy-to-follow step-by-step worksheets.

Videography

We worked with Jessye to create a music video for the title track of the album, taking inspiration from iconic music videos from the 80s and 90s.

Cover Art Design

We designed the official album designs—both for CD and vinyl—as well as artwork for two singles, “Punk Rock Joy” and the eponymous “Glitter Up the Dark.”

In addition to using our new photos of Jessye, we also created an eclectic flatlay with tarot cards, crystals, flowers, and more which we featured on the cover of “Punk Rock Joy.”

Website Design

Jessye’s website needed an overhaul to reflect her updated brand identity, while also tidying up the sitemap for an improved user experience. We kept the site simple, flexible, and easy to update, while also ensuring meta descriptions prioritized keywords to improve the site’s SEO.
